A modern alabaster wall lamp — a slim natural alabaster cylinder hanging from an elegant arched metal arm with disc mounting accents. Mid-century / Art Deco inspired silhouette. - Hardwired wall mount — junction box required. Licensed electrician recommended.
- Mount at eye level (60–66″ from floor) for hallway, accent, or vanity. For bedside reading, 30–36″ above the mattress. The slim 31.5″ height works well above narrow consoles or in stacked pairs.
- Alabaster is heavier than glass — confirm your junction box is rated for the additional load before mounting.
- Unpack the alabaster cylinder gently; natural stone can chip if knocked against the box edge.
Which body finish should I choose?
Gold: warmest, most glamorous — Art Deco interiors, hospitality, dark walls, and rooms with brass or wood accents. Black: graphic and contemporary — minimalist, modern, or industrial interiors where the metal reads as a clean line against the wall. Nickel: cool and neutral — Scandinavian, transitional, or bright rooms where polished silver tones already appear in hardware or fixtures. The white alabaster shade reads soft and luminous against all three finishes.
Is the alabaster real natural stone?
Yes — each cylinder is hand-cut and finished from natural alabaster stone, not glass or resin. Alabaster is naturally translucent; light glows softly through the stone, revealing the subtle veining and tonal variation that's inherent to it. Wall thickness, vein pattern, and exact white tone shift slightly from piece to piece — these are characteristics of natural stone, not defects.
What bulb? How bright?
GU10 base. A 5–7W GU10 LED in 2700K warm white gives focused downward glow through the long cylinder shade (about 400–500 lumens). Alabaster diffuses the bulb evenly — you won't see the filament shape, just a soft, ambient glow with the stone's natural veining quietly visible when lit. For accent or bedside, one lamp is ideal; for primary room lighting, install in pairs or layer with overhead. Bulbs not included.
Can I get a plug-in version instead of hardwired?
Yes — there's a dedicated plug-in version of this lamp. It has the same arched arm and alabaster cylinder shade but ships with a cord, plug, and inline switch instead of hardwiring. Useful for rentals, dorm rooms, or any wall where you can't install a junction box. Email us for the plug-in SKU or to ask about a plug-in conversion of a hardwired model.
How do I clean the alabaster cylinder?
Never use water, soap, or liquid cleaners on alabaster — the stone is porous and absorbs moisture, which can leave permanent staining, darken sections, or damage the surface. Dust the cylinder regularly with a soft, dry brush (a clean paintbrush works well) or a dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn marks, use the soft-brush attachment of a vacuum on the lowest setting. Wipe the metal arm with a dry microfiber; avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the gold, black, or nickel finish. Email support if a shade arrives chipped or develops a stain in normal use.
