Is this fixture hardwired, and does it require a special switch?

Yes, it is hardwired. It works with a common wall switch (not included). For dimming control, ask our atelier about triac-compatible options at build time.

What color temperature light does this produce?

Warm light 3000K is the standard. The fixture uses an integrated LED (~6W) and is compatible with AC 110–240V worldwide. LED sources are replaceable.
