The Vulca Split Stone Wall Light combines sculptural minimalism with a raw, volcanic texture. Crafted to resemble carved basalt, the elongated form is split down the center, revealing a soft, warm glow that diffuses through the narrow opening. The light appears almost as a molten core — subtle, atmospheric, and deeply architectural. An ideal accent for modern, wabi-sabi, industrial, or organic-inspired interiors.
About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The elongated body of this wall light is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

How does the light come through the stone?
The stone column is physically split down the centre, creating a narrow elongated aperture from which the G9 bulb's warm glow diffuses outward. The stone itself remains opaque — the light emerges only from the slit, creating the atmospheric molten-core effect.
Is the travertine naturally black?
No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
Can this be arranged in a linear series?
Yes — the slim ∅3.9″ profile is ideal for linear arrangements along a hallway or feature wall. Multiple units at evenly spaced intervals create a striking, rhythmic architectural statement. Each unit requires its own hardwired connection.
