A slot travertine wall sconce — a tall 2.6″ × 11″ natural-travertine cylinder with a single vertical light slot down its face. Light glows out through the open seam and washes the stone's pitted surface, set on a warm walnut-wood wall plate. G9 base. For hallways, entryways, bedside walls, and stairwell flanks.

- Hardwired wall install — a licensed electrician is recommended. Mounts vertically with the slot facing out.
- Mount over a standard wall junction box; the walnut wall plate covers the box. Confirm your box orientation before install.
- Travertine is a porous natural stone — open cavities, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of the material, not flaws or damage. No two pieces are identical.
- The walnut-wood wall plate is real wood — grain pattern and tone vary by piece, and the photograph shows a representative sample.
- We recommend a 3–5W G9 LED in 2700K warm white to emphasize the slot glow and warm the stone surface.
- Indoor dry locations only (IP20). Do not install in showers, above tubs, or any wet/outdoor location — travertine is porous and absorbs moisture.
- Clean with a soft dry cloth; do not use water or acidic cleaners, which etch and stain natural stone.
How is this different from the tapered travertine sconce?
Shape and light. This Slot sconce is a tall cylinder (2.6″ × 11″) with a single vertical light slot down the face — a narrow blade of light that grazes the stone. The Tapered sconce is a low wedge form (5.5″ wide) that glows from top and bottom. Pick Slot for a tall, linear accent in hallways and beside doors; pick Tapered for a compact wash of light on a flat wall.
The travertine has holes and pits — is that a defect?
No — those are natural to travertine. Open cavities, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of the stone, not flaws or shipping damage. Each piece is hand-cut, so no two sconces look exactly alike; that variation is the point of a natural-stone fixture.
What G9 bulb should I use? Is it dimmable?
G9 base, max 5W LED recommended. A 3–5W G9 LED in 2700K warm white emphasizes the slot glow and warms the stone surface. Avoid cool-white above 3000K — it flattens the travertine tone. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible wall dimmer.
Can I install it in a bathroom?
Only away from water. It's rated IP20 for indoor dry locations — fine on a bathroom wall well clear of the shower or tub, but not in a wet zone. Travertine is porous and absorbs moisture, which stains the stone over time.
How do I clean it, and what's the warranty?
Dust with a soft dry cloth only — no water or acidic cleaners, which etch and stain natural stone. 2-year warranty on the fixture and wiring; G9 bulbs are standard replaceable parts. Email support replies within one business day at hello@vakkerlight.com.
