Perla is a sculpture-style table lamp built from two hand-blown glass shells stacked on a solid alabaster center disc. The glass forms a smooth dome above and a rounded plate below; the alabaster between catches the bulb's warm light and pours it outward through the translucent stone, while a smaller glow dome at the bottom sends a second pool of light onto the surface below.

Available in two sizes (S 26 cm Ø / L 32 cm Ø) and two glass colorways: clear glass with cream alabaster, or smoke-tinted glass with cream alabaster. GU10 socket on a plug-in cord; bulb sold separately.

Hand-blown glass + natural alabaster — every Perla is one-of-a-kind. Hand-blown glass shells will show subtle thickness variation, occasional faint internal swirl marks, and slightly different curvatures between pieces — these are signs of craft, not defects. The alabaster disc varies in veining direction and tonal warmth between every piece we cut. The two materials are matched at our workshop, but no two Perlas are identical.

GU10 is a small twist-lock base, common in track lighting and compact lamps. Available on Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe's under "GU10 LED bulb." We recommend a 35-50W equivalent LED in 2700-3000K warm white — the warm tone reads naturally through the alabaster center, lighting the disc from within. Avoid halogen GU10s — they run hot and can warm the alabaster over time. For dimming, choose a Triac-dimmable GU10 LED and pair with a standard Triac wall dimmer.

Which size and color should I choose?
For nightstands, dressing tables, or small consoles, the S (10.2″) sits in proportion. For entry consoles, sideboards, and living room accent tables, the L (12.6″) reads as a sculptural focal piece. On color: Clear Glass is brighter, more transparent — best in light-toned rooms with cream walls and natural fabrics. Smoke Glass is moodier, more architectural — best in walnut-furnished rooms, dark academia interiors, or against deep wall colors.
What's a GU10 bulb and where do I buy one?
GU10 is a compact twist-lock base, common in track lighting and small accent lamps. It's widely available — Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, Costco, and most hardware stores carry GU10 LED bulbs. We recommend a 35-50W equivalent LED in 2700-3000K warm white. Avoid halogen GU10s entirely — they run hot, can warm the alabaster, and aren't energy-efficient.
Why does my Perla look slightly different from the photo?
Two reasons. First, the glass shells are hand-blown — every piece has slightly different thickness, curvature, and faint internal swirl marks. Second, the alabaster disc is cut from natural stone — veining direction, tonal warmth, and translucency vary between pieces. The photos show representative examples, not the exact pieces you'll receive. Customers who care for fine glass and natural stone treat this as character.
Can I dim Perla?
Yes — Perla is compatible with most Triac-based wall dimmers (the standard residential dimmer in North America). Choose a Triac-dimmable GU10 LED bulb, and pair the lamp with a standard wall dimmer. Smart dimmers (Lutron Caséta, Leviton Decora Smart) also work with most dimmable GU10 LEDs. Avoid older incandescent-only dimmers, which won't pair correctly.
Does the alabaster glow when lit?
Yes — alabaster is naturally translucent, so warm light from the GU10 bulb softly bleeds through the center disc, revealing the fibrous veining like a slice of frozen amber. The smoke glass version creates a more contained, moody glow; the clear glass version reads brighter and more open. Both effects are most striking with warm-white bulbs (2700-3000K) in dimmer rooms.
How do I clean it?
For the glass shells, wipe with a soft microfiber cloth — a glass cleaner is fine if needed, applied to the cloth (never sprayed directly on the lamp). For the alabaster center, only use a soft dry cloth, never water or acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar, bleach), which will permanently etch the natural surface. Don't separate the glass shells from the alabaster yourself — the two are aligned and seated at our workshop.
