What are the leaves made of?

Each ginkgo leaf is individual white ceramic. A small amount of glue is applied where the leaf meets the metal body for secure attachment—slight glue residue is normal and does not affect appearance or function.

Can this fixture be dimmed?

Dimming is available. Contact support@vakkerlight.com to request a Triac dimmer module at time of order.

How much clearance does it need, and what room size does it suit?

The fixture is 9.8″ tall and mounts flush to the ceiling. The smallest diameter is 14.2″ (ideal for narrow hallways or small studies); the largest is 24.4″ (suited to master bedrooms or open living areas). No minimum ceiling height is required beyond standard residential clearance.

Will this work on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?

Yes. Contact support@vakkerlight.com to specify your ceiling angle and slope. A custom canopy can be built to fit.

Is this approved for US homes, and do I pay shipping?

Yes—it is certified for North America and ships free to all 50 US states. The E12 candelabra socket is standard for US household power (110–240V AC).

¿De qué material están hechas las hojas?

Cada hoja de ginkgo es cerámica blanca individual. Se aplica una pequeña cantidad de adhesivo donde la hoja se une al cuerpo de metal para un anclaje seguro—es normal una leve cantidad de residuo de adhesivo y no afecta la apariencia ni el funcionamiento.

¿Se puede regular el brillo de esta lámpara?

La regulación de intensidad está disponible. Contacta a support@vakkerlight.com para solicitar un módulo regulador Triac en el momento de hacer tu pedido.

¿Cuánto espacio libre necesita y qué tamaño de habitación es el adecuado?

La luminaria mide 9,8″ de alto y se monta al ras del techo. El diámetro más pequeño es de 14,2″ (ideal para pasillos estrechos o despachos pequeños); el más grande es de 24,4″ (adecuado para dormitorios principales o áreas de estar abiertas). No se requiere una altura mínima de techo más allá del espacio libre estándar residencial.

¿Funcionará en un techo inclinado o abovedado?

From Clay to Chandelier The Ceramic Leaf:
Four Stages of Craft

Each ginkgo leaf passes through four skilled hands before it joins the chandelier. No leaf is identical. Every surface carries the trace of the artisan who made it.

Step 1: Sculpting and carving the ceramic ginkgo leaf form

Sculpting & Carving

Each leaf begins as raw clay. Master sculptors shape the distinctive bilobed ginkgo form by hand, carving the characteristic veins and curvature that give each leaf its living quality.

Mold Making

Precision plaster molds are cast from the master sculpt. Each mold preserves the exact weight, thickness, and surface detail of the original — ensuring every leaf in a commission matches perfectly.

Kiln Firing

Formed leaves are carefully dried then fired in a high-temperature kiln. The ceramic body becomes hard, dense, and uniquely translucent — allowing the warm glow of the light source to soften through each leaf.

Grinding & Polishing

Each fired leaf is ground and hand-polished to a smooth, silk-matte finish. The edges are refined, the surface inspected, and any imperfection addressed — before the leaf is approved and assembled onto the brass armature.

This light is very delicate looking. It makes nice patterns on the ceiling. I would like to see it with a dimmer installed.
