A fabric lantern pendant in a traditional Chinese lantern silhouette — the gourd-shaped body is built from curved eco fabric panels that bow outward at the midsection and taper at both ends, printed with fine-line botanical motifs in the style of Chinese gongbi ink illustration. A copper-tone metal collar at the top and a dark wood bead with copper cap at the base close the lantern at both ends. When lit, the 3000K bulb illuminates the printed fabric from within, making the floral motifs glow as shadow-and-light details rather than flat surface decoration. Square proportion: diameter equals height across all three sizes.

The E27 socket accepts any standard medium screw base replacement. For dimming, swap in a Triac-dimmable E27 LED and a compatible dimmer switch.

The fabric is printed with botanical motifs in the gongbi (工笔) tradition — a style of Chinese fine-line ink illustration characterized by precise, detailed outlines rather than expressive brushwork. When lit from inside, the print appears as a luminous silhouette: the ink lines create darker shadows against the warmer lit fabric ground, making the motif visible as depth rather than color.

A copper-tone metal ring collar sits at the top of the lantern body where the cord enters; a dark wood bead with a small copper-tone cap closes the base — a traditional lantern finishing detail. - Turn off power at the breaker before installation. A licensed electrician is recommended for all hardwired ceiling connections. Adjust the cord at the black canopy to set drop height. For the Large (H60 cm), ensure ceiling height allows adequate clearance — measure before ordering.
- Screw the included 3000K E27 bulb into the socket. Do not exceed the socket's rated wattage. Replace with any E27 medium base bulb of your choice — a globe-shaped bulb will be partially visible through the fabric when lit, which suits the lantern aesthetic.
- For dimming: the included bulb may not be dimmable — check packaging. Replace with a Triac-dimmable E27 LED and a compatible leading- or trailing-edge dimmer switch.
- Printed eco fabric: dust with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum brush attachment. Do not wet-clean or steam — moisture can affect the fabric tension and the printed surface. Keep away from cooking steam and high-humidity areas.
- Copper-tone metal hardware (collar and base cap): wipe with a dry soft cloth. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners — these dull the copper-tone finish. Wood bead: dry cloth only.
- The lantern frame holds the curved panel shape — do not compress or store the shade when folded. If the shade arrives folded for shipping, allow it to expand and settle in ambient temperature before installation.
Does a bulb come included?
Yes — one 3000K warm white E27 LED bulb ships in the box, ready to use after installation. The 3000K tone illuminates the cream fabric with amber warmth, allowing the printed floral motifs to read as glowing shadow detail from the inside rather than as a surface print visible only in daylight. The E27 socket accepts any standard medium screw base replacement.
What is gongbi-style print, and how does it look when lit?
Gongbi (工笔) is a style of Chinese fine-line painting characterized by precise, detailed ink outlines — often depicting botanical subjects like peonies, lotus, or chrysanthemums. The print on this lantern uses that line style on cream eco fabric. Unlit, it reads as a delicate ink illustration on the fabric surface. When lit from inside, the printed ink lines create slightly darker shadow zones against the warmer lit fabric background — the motif becomes visible as a luminous backlit silhouette rather than a flat surface graphic. The effect is subtle: the print enriches the lit texture without dominating the light output.
Which size should I choose?
The Small (Ø40 cm) suits a bedroom, tea room, reading corner, or 2-seat dining table — the square proportion and lantern silhouette work particularly well as a bedside pendant or study light. The Medium (Ø50 cm) anchors a 2–4 seat dining table or living room. The Large (Ø60 cm) suits a 4–6 seat dining room or open-plan living space. Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the bulb. The included 3000K E27 bulb may not be dimmable — check its packaging. For reliable dimming, replace with a Triac-dimmable E27 LED and pair with a compatible leading- or trailing-edge (Triac) wall dimmer switch.
