The paint on the figure is better than it could have been, very shiny! The lamp itself is nice and bright, too bright for a night light but would be great as a secondary room light (or table lamp). It's a unique piece and really brightens up anywhere you put it (literally!). It's in a room with a skateboarder and he loves it. It would make a great gift for someone similar.

This lamp is much bigger than I expected. I plan to put it on a table so I should have gone with something smaller. But I'm not mad at all. The shape is so cute. It's a tribute to my husband who was a skateboarder boy when we met in school. It's a warm light and there is no switch option. I'm happy with it though and am just surprised that most lamps have an option now.
