Are the marble-like dots consistent between pieces?
The dot pattern is applied by hand during the glassblowing process, which means the placement, density, and sizing of dots will vary subtly between individual shades. This is an inherent quality of hand-blown artisan glass — not a defect. Each Gemma shade has its own character within the same overall aesthetic.
How does the coloured glass affect the light output?
The coloured glass tints the light that passes through it, creating a decorative ambient effect. White glass produces the cleanest, brightest output. Green, Pink, and Red cast a coloured wash — more decorative and atmospheric than functional. For spaces requiring practical task lighting, the White shade is the better choice; for statement accent lighting, the coloured variants are ideal.
