Glue traces at shade edge — normal handcraft characteristic, not a defect
This pendant undergoes a meticulous hand-bonding process using paper and glue. Minor traces of glue along the edge of the lampshade are a normal result of the handcraft process and do not constitute a quality issue.

Are glue traces at the shade edge a defect?
No. Minor glue traces at the shade edge are a normal result of the hand-bonding process used to assemble washi paper pendants. They are not a quality defect and do not affect the light performance or appearance when lit.
How many bulbs does each size use?
The four standard sizes (∅12.9"×H59.1", ∅16.9"×H55.1", ∅16.9"×H51.2") use 3 E26/E27 bulbs each. The ∅16.9"×H106.3" version uses 5 bulbs. For the three ultra-tall sizes (H86.6", H131.9", H181.1"), please contact us for bulb count details.
Is this plug-in or hardwired?
Hardwired ceiling installation. A 59" (150 cm) adjustable cable is included. Extensions are available on request — contact us before ordering if you need a longer drop for high ceilings.
What bulb do you recommend for the best look?
A warm Edison filament bulb at 2700K is recommended. The warm amber light passes through the translucent washi paper in a way that creates a soft, organic glow — similar to candlelight or sunlight through paper screens. Avoid cool white (5000K+) bulbs, which can make the shade look stark rather than warm.
Which size should I choose for my space?
The ∅12.9"×H59.1" and ∅16.9"×H51–55" sizes suit standard ceiling heights (8–10 ft) in bedrooms, dining rooms, and living rooms. The H106.3" version is ideal for double-height spaces or open staircases where you want a dramatic vertical drop. The ultra-tall sizes (H86.6" to H181.1") are designed for loft spaces, hotel lobbies, and atriums with very high ceilings — contact us if you're unsure which fits best.
Common questions
Is the washi paper durable, or will it tear or yellow?+
Washi is a dense, long-fiber Japanese paper. The horizontal ridges you see reinforce the material. Over years, exposure to ambient heat and light will gradually age the paper, which is normal for organic materials.
How much horizontal space does this take up?+
The widest variant (V2 through V7) has a 16.9-inch diameter. V1 is narrower at 12.9 inches. Plan for at least 18 inches of clear space in all directions below the fixture.
Can I install the tallest version (V7) in my home?+
V7 is 181.1 inches (15.1 feet) from ceiling to bottom. You need a ceiling height of at least 16+ feet and an unobstructed vertical path. Measure before ordering. Installation requires a sturdy ceiling box rated for pendant weight.
Can I customize the size or add a different finish?+
Yes. The Washi Paper E is made to order in our atelier. Ultra-tall sizes (H86.6″+) and custom proportions are available—contact us to discuss your exact room dimensions and vision.
