The Tortile is a sculptural ceramic table lamp with an upright body carved in deep, spiraling twists — like flowing fabric or a swirl of water frozen in clay. A whitewashed glaze settles over the ridges while natural clay shows through the recesses, for a soft, weathered, hand-made look. A tan fabric drum shade balances it. At 15″ wide and 24″ tall, it's an artful accent for a console, sideboard, or side table.

- Use an LED bulb so the fabric shade and ceramic body stay cool in use.
- Dust the spiral grooves with a soft, dry brush, following the twist; avoid wet wiping that can sit in the recesses.
- The carving and whitewash are finished by hand, so the twist and exposed clay vary piece to piece; the photograph shows a representative sample.
What bulb does the Tortile use, and will US bulbs fit?
It takes one E27 bulb — the large Edison screw. US E26 bulbs thread into E27 and run on 120V, so standard US bulbs work fine. A warm-white (2700K) LED suits the soft, whitewashed finish.
Will the twist and glaze look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical. The spiral is carved and the whitewash applied by hand, so the twist pattern and the amount of clay showing through vary from piece to piece. That variation is part of the handmade character — the photograph shows a representative sample.
How big is it, and where does it fit?
It's 15″ wide and 24″ tall — a tall, slim sculptural lamp. It suits a console, a sideboard, or a side table, and its height makes it a good reading-height light beside a sofa or chair.
How do I clean the twisted base?
Dust it with a soft, dry brush, following the spiral grooves. Avoid soaking or harsh cleaners; the deep recesses can hold moisture and grit, and scrubbing can lighten the whitewash. Keep the cord and socket area dry.
What is the warranty and support?
2-year warranty on the wiring and fittings; the ceramic is covered against manufacturing defects, with natural carving and glaze variation excluded. Bulbs are consumable and not covered, but they're inexpensive E27/E26 replacements. Email support replies within one business day.
