About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The cubic body of this wall lamp is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The porous surface visible in each piece is authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

Compatible with LED or Edison-style G9 bulbs. A warm-toned G9 LED (2700–3000K) is recommended — the warmth of the light reflected by the golden inner finish creates a rich, atmospheric downward glow.

Where does the golden glow come from?
The interior of the stone cube has a subtly golden metallic finish. When the G9 bulb illuminates the interior, this warm lining reflects the light downward, creating the rich, atmospheric glow visible from below.
Is the travertine naturally black?
No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
Can this be arranged as a series on a wall?
Yes — the uniform cube proportions are ideal for repeating linear or grid arrangements. Multiple cubes evenly spaced along a hallway or feature wall create a striking, architectural rhythm.
