About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The cylindrical shade of this ceiling light is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The porous exterior texture is authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

Packaging odor upon opening — normal, dissipates within a few days
During transportation, the travertine is sealed within protective packaging. Due to long-distance transit, the enclosed environment and packaging materials may produce a slight odor upon opening. This is completely normal and will fully dissipate after a few days. It does not affect the safety or quality of the product.
E26 (US/CA) or E27 (EU/AU)
Compatible with LED and Edison filament bulbs. A warm filament bulb (2700–3000K) is recommended — the warm tone is reflected beautifully by the metallic interior lining.

Is the travertine naturally black?
No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath. The raw, porous exterior texture is authentic.
There is a slight odor when I open the packaging — is this normal?
Yes, this is normal. During long-distance transit the travertine is sealed in protective packaging, and the enclosed environment may produce a slight odor. It will fully dissipate after a few days. It does not affect the safety or quality of the product.
