A solid travertine column with a tapered cotton-linen shade — built for nightstands, console tables, and library desks

Caldera is a compact transitional table lamp built around a solid travertine base — two stacked stone columns whose natural pores and warm beige veining read differently on every piece. The tapered shade is sewn from a cotton-linen blend that softens the bulb's glow into an even, library-warm pool of light.

Sized for nightstands, console tables, and reading desks at 30 cm x 36 cm tall (about 12 x 14 inches). E26 socket on a plug-in cord — no electrician needed. Bulb sold separately. The travertine base is heavy enough to anchor the lamp securely in everyday use.

Cut from natural travertine — each piece carries its own pattern of pores, veining, and tonal shifts. No two are identical.

Cotton-Linen Shade

Tapered drum sewn from a cotton-linen blend — diffuses the bulb softly into a warm, library-quality pool of light.

Each piece features unique natural veining and pores. Travertine forms over thousands of years in mineral hot springs — the surface texture, pore distribution, and tonal warmth vary between bases. This is the nature of natural stone, not a defect. The cotton-linen shade may also relax slight packaging creases within a few days of use.

Why does my travertine base look different from the photo?

Travertine is a natural stone formed over thousands of years in mineral hot springs — pore distribution, veining direction, and tonal warmth vary between every block we cut. The photo shows a representative example, not the exact piece you will receive. Most customers tell us their actual stone is more interesting than the studio photo.

What bulb should I buy?

Caldera uses a single E26 (standard medium base) bulb, sold separately. We recommend a 40-60W equivalent LED in 2700-3000K warm white — the warm tone reads naturally through the cotton-linen shade and brings out the amber tones in the travertine. For dimming, choose a Triac-dimmable LED and pair with a standard Triac wall dimmer.

Is the base heavy?

Yes — solid travertine is substantial by design. The weight anchors the lamp securely on nightstands and console tables, so it will not tip from a passing brush or accidental cord tug. We recommend lifting from the base, not the shade, when repositioning.

The shade arrived with creases — is that normal?

Yes. Cotton-linen shades are flat-packed during shipping, and minor creases relax within a few days of use as the fabric warms slightly under the bulb. For faster smoothing, you can run a steamer over the outside of the shade from a few inches away — never iron directly.

How do I clean the travertine base?

Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth — never soak the stone or use acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar, bleach), which can etch the natural pores. The base ships pre-sealed, so light dusting is all most owners ever need.

Is Caldera certified for North America and Europe?

Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110-240V worldwide.
