Handcrafted from translucent washi paper made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree, the washi pendant creates a warm, diffused glow unlike any other material. Each piece is a light sculpture — organic, quietly luminous, and made by hand.
Light through washi paper is often compared to sunlight filtered through traditional paper doors — a warm glow and a calm, pleasant ambiance.

Each shade undergoes a meticulous hand-bonding process using paper and glue. Minor glue traces along the shade edges are a natural result of this handcraft process and are not a quality defect.

Order multiple pendants for a layered, architectural installation. Each pendant hangs on its own cable.
E26 base — bulb not included
Uses a standard E26 (or E27) base. A warm Edison-style filament bulb (2200–2700K) is strongly recommended — the amber glow through translucent washi paper replicates the quality of candlelight or sunlight through traditional shoji screens beautifully. LED bulbs also work. Bulb not included.

What is this lamp made from?
Handcrafted from translucent washi paper made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree — the same traditional material used in Japanese shoji screens and paper lanterns. The paper is hand-bonded over a metal wire frame.
Why are there glue traces on the shade?
The shade is assembled by hand using paper and glue. Minor glue traces along the edges are a normal characteristic of this handcraft process — not a defect.
What sizes are available?
Three individual sizes — 26A (∅17.7"), 21A (∅25.6"), and 15A (∅34.6") — plus cluster configurations pairing two, three, or five pendants at graduated heights.
What bulb is recommended?
A warm Edison-style filament bulb (2200–2700K) — the amber glow through washi paper is exceptionally warm and beautiful, evoking candlelight or sunlight through a shoji screen. E26 or E27 base. Bulb not included.
How long is the cable?
197 inches (500 cm) — an extra-long cable suitable for double-height or lofted ceilings. It can be shortened at installation. Custom extensions available on request.

Which size should I choose for my dining table?+
The 21A (∅25.6″) works well over standard dining tables; the 15A (∅34.6″) suits larger tables or creates dramatic focal points. For intimate settings, pair two or three sizes in a cluster configuration for layered ambient light.
Can I customize the cable length for a high ceiling?+
Yes. Standard cable adjusts to 197″ (500 cm). Custom extensions are available on request through our atelier for very high ceilings or stairwells—contact us with your ceiling height.
What cable colors are available?+
White & White Cable or White & Black Cable. Choose based on your ceiling and décor to either blend seamlessly or create intentional visual contrast.
