Washi Paper 31N Pendant Light
A cylindrical pendant made of pleated white washi paper that diffuses light evenly in all directions. The paper has a soft, natural texture you can see right through when lit. Works over a dining table, kitchen island, bedroom, or entryway.
What you actually get
White paper is folded into tight horizontal pleats. Light passes through the entire shade, not just the bottom.
V1 is compact at 20.5 inches tall. V2 is longer at 62.2 inches, giving you more visual presence and light spread.
Both versions are the same width. Fits over a standard dining table or kitchen island without feeling cramped.

What is the shade made of?
The shade is pleated white washi paper that diffuses light evenly across the entire surface. The paper has a soft, natural texture and lets light pass through when lit.
Can this pendant be dimmed?
Yes. Triac dimming is available as a built-to-order option, so you can adjust the brightness to suit your space.
Can I change the cord or drop length?
Yes. The fixture is made to order with cable lengths cut to fit your ceiling height and table. Tell us your measurements when you order, and we'll ship it ready to hang at the right height.
Will this work on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
The standard canopy is designed for flat ceilings. We can build a custom canopy for a sloped or vaulted ceiling—just let us know the pitch of your ceiling before you order.
Does this run on US household power?
Yes. This fixture is hardwired to your ceiling electrical box by an electrician and runs on standard US AC power (110–240V).
Is this approved for US use and do you ship here?
Yes to both. We ship free to all 50 states. This fixture is certified for North America.
Sizing & questions
Every piece is made to order in our own atelier — here is what most clients ask before choosing theirs.
What are the two size options?+
The compact version is ∅ 13″ × H 20.5″; the tall version is ∅ 13″ × H 62.2″. Both offer the same diameter with different drop lengths. Custom sizing is available through our atelier.
Is this pendant suitable for a double-height stairwell?+
Yes. The tall version (H 62.2″) works well in high-ceilinged entries and stairwells. The adjustable hanging cable extends to 59″ and can be extended further upon request.
What kind of light bulbs does it use?+
It accepts LED or Edison bulbs with E26/E27 base. Choose LED for efficiency or Edison for warm, vintage character. Bulbs are easily replaceable.
How do I control the light?+
It connects to a standard wall switch (not included). The fixture is compatible with common wall switches; triac dimming is available as a made-to-order build option.
How do I clean the washi paper shade?+
Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture and harsh chemicals to preserve the paper. For deeper cleaning, consult our installation guide or contact us for guidance.
