A floor-standing candelabra hand-forged from iron — a single twisted stem rises from a wide curling base, branching at the top into roughly seven candle cups at varying heights. Finished in matte black, with the calligraphic, hand-drawn quality of pieces shaped one rod at a time by a smith rather than struck from a mould. The cups hold standard 2.2 cm taper candles (sold separately); each cup is 2.4 cm inside so a 2.2 cm candle sits snugly without play. At 120 cm tall on a 45 cm base, the piece reads as a sculptural floor object in its own right, lit or unlit. This is a real-candle decor piece — not an electric light.
Hand-forged iron
Each rod is bent and welded by hand — no two units have the exact same curl pattern.
Seven candle cups
Cups branch from the stem at varying heights — light all seven for a full display, or just one or two for a quieter mood.
Floor-scale
120 cm tall on a 45 cm wide curling base — sized as a sculptural object, not a tabletop piece.
Real candles, real flame — never leave unattended
This candelabra is designed for real candles, not electric tea-lights or wax-melts. Open flame carries real fire risk if not handled with care. Before lighting, confirm the candelabra sits on a stable hard surface, at least 50 cm (20″) clear of curtains, drapes, paper, fabric wall-hangings, low ceilings, bookshelves, or any other flammable surface. Never light if pets or small children can reach the flames. Do not leave lit candles unattended — extinguish all flames before leaving the room or going to sleep. Extinguish with a snuffer or a quick puff; do not blow violently (sends sparks).
Standard 2.2 cm taper candles — sold separately
Each cup is 2.4 cm in inside diameter and is designed for a standard 2.2 cm (≈ 7/8″) taper candle — the everyday slim dinner-candle size sold at most home stores. The small 2 mm gap lets the candle slide in and out easily but holds it snugly upright when lit, so it doesn't tip or wobble. What does NOT fit: pillar candles (too wide), tealights (no holder for them), thick dinner candles over 2.2 cm (won't sit in the cup), birthday candles (too thin — fall through), or LED flameless candles in pillar form. Some 2.2 cm tapers are slightly oversized — if a candle won't seat, do not force it; trim the base with a sharp knife to fit, or choose a slightly narrower candle.
Place on hard flooring with a drip tray underneath
Even drip-less tapers release some wax as they burn down — over an evening of lit candles, wax can land on the floor below. Place the candelabra on tile, stone, sealed wood, or a hard hearth surface. Avoid carpet, rugs, unfinished wood, and laminate, where dripped wax fuses to the fibres and is very hard to remove cleanly. For extra protection, slide a 50 cm (20″) round drip mat or shallow tray under the curling iron base — a metal tray, a piece of slate, or a thick felt mat all work. Fresh wax peels off most hard surfaces once cool, with a plastic scraper or a hair dryer on low heat to soften and wipe.
Hand-forged iron — each piece varies slightly
Each candelabra is forged by hand: the iron rod is heated, bent into the curling stem and base, welded at the cup junctions, and finished in matte black paint or powder coat. Because every rod is shaped by hand, the exact curl pattern, the height each cup sits at, and the lean of the base vary subtly between units — the piece you receive sits in the same design family as the photos but won't be a pixel-perfect match. Small marks of the smith's tools (a slight unevenness in a curl, a faint hammer mark, a tiny burr near a weld) are part of how the piece is made, not a defect. | Candle size | 2.2 cm (≈ 7/8″) taper candles · standard dinner-candle taper size |
| Color | Matte Black (single SKU) |
| Material | Hand-forged iron rod, welded · matte black paint or powder coat |
| Real flame product | Uses real candles — open flame requires constant attention. Never leave unattended. Keep 50 cm clear of all flammable surfaces. |
| Power | None — this is a non-electric decor piece. No bulb, no wiring, no cord. |
| Placement | Free-standing on hard flooring · indoor dry locations only |
| Candles included | No — sold separately. Use only 2.2 cm taper candles. |
- Unpack carefully — the iron is durable but the matte finish can scuff if dragged across a hard surface. Lift the piece by the central stem, not by the candle cups or the branching rods.
- Place on a flat, level hard floor. The curling iron base needs solid contact to stay stable. The piece weighs enough that it won't tip from a bump, but pets or running children can knock it over — site it where casual brushing-against doesn't reach.
- Avoid carpet, rugs, and unfinished wood floors. Dripped wax fuses to fibres and is extremely hard to remove cleanly. Place on tile, stone, sealed wood, or a hard hearth.
- For extra wax protection, slide a 50 cm (20″) round drip mat — slate, a metal tray, or thick felt — under the curling iron base. Cheap, decorative, and saves the floor from drip emergencies.
- Allow at least 50 cm (20″) clearance from curtains, drapes, paper, fabric wall-hangings, books, low shelves, or any other flammable surface. Keep at least 1 m clear of low ceilings.
- Use only 2.2 cm taper candles. If a candle is slightly oversized for the 2.4 cm cup, trim the base with a sharp knife — do not force a candle into the cup, as that risks bending the cup or cracking the candle. If a candle is too thin and falls through the cup, wrap the base in a thin strip of foil or use a candle of correct width.
- Light only with adult supervision present. Do not leave lit candles unattended. Extinguish all flames before leaving the room, going to sleep, or stepping out. A candle snuffer is the cleanest extinguish method; a quick gentle puff also works (avoid violent blowing — sends sparks).
- Indoor dry locations only — not for outdoor use (wind = unpredictable flame), not for covered porches in windy weather, not for damp basements (rust on iron).
- Cool fully before handling. After a lit evening, the iron near each cup can stay warm for an hour — wait, then check by touch before moving the candelabra.
- Wipe the matte finish with a soft, dry cloth as needed. Cooled wax on the iron peels off most easily after fully hardened — work it off gently with a plastic scraper or a fingernail. Avoid metal scrapers, abrasive pads, or solvents (they dull the matte finish). For paint touch-ups, a matching enamel paint from a hardware store blends in well.
Is this an electric light? Does it use a bulb?
No. This is a real-candle decorative piece — no bulb, no LED, no cord, no plug, no wiring. The candle cups hold standard 2.2 cm taper candles (real wax, real wick, real flame). It's a sculptural decor object that doubles as a candle holder, not an electric lamp. If you're after an electric light, this isn't the right product.
What kind of candles fit, and where do I buy them?
Standard 2.2 cm (≈ 7/8″) taper candles — the slim everyday dinner-candle size you'll find at home stores, supermarkets, candle shops, and online retailers (search "2.2 cm taper candle" or "slim dinner candle"). Each cup is 2.4 cm inside, leaving a small 2 mm gap that holds the candle snugly upright. Candles do not come with the candelabra — buy separately. Avoid pillar candles, tealights, dinner candles thicker than 2.2 cm, birthday candles, or LED tealights — none of these fit the cups properly.
How do I keep wax off the floor?
Two things: choose drip-less tapers (most modern candles are drip-less for ten minutes or so once lit), and place a 50 cm (20″) round drip mat under the iron base — slate, a metal tray, or thick felt all work. Avoid carpet, rugs, and unfinished wood under the candelabra; dripped wax fuses to fibres permanently. Tile, stone, sealed wood, or a hard hearth is safest. Cooled wax peels off most hard surfaces with a plastic scraper or a hair dryer on low heat (warm the wax to soften, then wipe).
How safe is it around children and pets?
The candelabra itself is heavy, weighted by the wide curling base, so it doesn't tip easily from a casual bump. But any lit candle is a fire risk — flames hot enough to ignite curtains, hair, or fur. Light it only with adult supervision present, keep at least 50 cm clear of anything flammable, and don't leave lit candles unattended. If you have small children or curious pets at home, light it only when an adult can stay in the room the whole time, and extinguish all flames before leaving. Unlit, it's a safe sculptural object.
How do I clean the iron, and what's the warranty?
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth as needed — the matte black finish doesn't show fingerprints much. Cooled wax peels off the iron easily once hardened; soften stubborn wax with a hair dryer on low heat or work it free with a plastic scraper. Avoid metal scrapers, abrasive pads, or solvents on the iron — they can dull the matte finish. The candelabra carries a 1-year warranty against defects in the welds and finish under normal indoor use. Email support with your order number if anything arrives damaged. Natural variation in hand-forged curl patterns, small smith's marks near welds, and damage from forcing oversized candles into the cups are not covered.
If it is a product quality problem or transportation damage, we will provide free return and exchange services, ensuring a hassle-free experience for our customers.
