Two E26/E27 bulbs are cradled inside a large mulberry paper shade built on a metal internal armature — the frame providing structural precision while the Kozo paper diffuses both light sources into a single, seamless warm glow. At ∅ 47 cm and H 82 cm, the form is generous enough to anchor a dining table or living room on its own, yet the paper construction keeps the visual weight close to zero. A hardwired ceiling pendant inspired by the Japanese paper lantern tradition and the mid-century modernist study of light as material.

Each shade is individually hand-crafted using the Chigiri bonding technique — paper layers are hand-torn and bonded with glue. Minor glue traces along the shade edge are a natural result of this process and are not quality defects. Each piece will differ slightly.

Two bulb sockets, two matching warm-white LEDs at 2700–3000 K recommended. The paper shade merges both light sources into a single warm, even glow — there is no visible hotspot or shadow pattern. Two 6–8W warm LEDs (12–16W combined) provide comfortable ambient lighting for a dining table or living room of up to 20 m². Use matching bulbs of the same wattage and colour temperature in both sockets for the most uniform result.

Why does this pendant have two bulb sockets?
The larger form of the Kozo Paper Pendant (∅ 47 cm, H 82 cm) has more interior volume than a single bulb can evenly illuminate. Two bulbs placed inside the metal frame ensure that light is distributed throughout the full height of the shade — the glow is warm and even from bottom to top, with no dark zones or shadowing. Use two matching warm-white LEDs of the same wattage for the most uniform result.
What is the metal frame inside the shade?
The internal metal armature is the structural skeleton of the shade — it gives the pendant its form and keeps the mulberry paper taut and properly shaped. Metal is used because it can be precision-formed to the exact geometry required, holding the paper in a consistent silhouette across the full height of the shade. The metal frame is not visible through the paper when the lamp is lit — only the warm, even glow of the Kozo paper is seen from the outside.
How do I care for the paper shade?
Mulberry paper is delicate — do not clean with water or damp cloths. For dust, use a very soft dry brush or low-power compressed air held at distance. Avoid moisture, direct rain, and prolonged direct sunlight. Do not compress or press the shade. The metal frame is rigid but the paper surface will crease or tear if pressed. Handle gently at all times.
Is this lamp certified for North America and Europe?
Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110–240V worldwide.

What size dining table will this pendant fit above?+
At ∅ 18.5″, this pendant works well over tables up to 4 feet wide. The generous 32.2″ height and dual-bulb design provide even ambient light. Cable is adjustable to 59″ and extendable on request for different room heights.
Why does this pendant have two bulb sockets?+
Two bulbs distribute warm light evenly throughout the full 32.2″ shade height, preventing dark zones or shadowing. Use two matching warm-white LEDs of the same wattage and color temperature (2700–3000K recommended) for uniform glow.
What ceiling height do I need for this pendant?+
Standard ceiling height is 8 feet. The pendant comes with a 59″ adjustable cable. Request extension during order if needed. Consult installation guides for final hang height calculation.
