A backlit travertine sculpture — an arched front column set against a capsule-shaped backplate, lit by a hidden glow

Eclipse is built from solid silver-grey travertine cut into two interlocking shapes — an arched cylinder set against a capsule-shaped backplate. A concealed light source between them washes the inner curve in warm amber, turning the lamp into a glowing silhouette. Just 9 cm (3.5″) deep, so it sits flat against walls and shelves like a piece of sculpture.

Compact at 19.8 × 35 cm (7.8″ × 13.8″) — small enough for a nightstand or floating shelf, sculptural enough to anchor a console or mantel. Solid stone gives it real weight; the cool grey tones with warm-glow interior pair beautifully with brushed metal, dark wood, and walnut interiors.

Solid Silver-Grey Travertine

Cut from natural silver-grey travertine — pores and veining are unique to each piece. The cooler grey tones complement walnut, brass, and brushed steel interiors.

Concealed Backlight

A G9 socket sits hidden behind the front column. The light reflects off the inner backplate, glowing through the natural pores of the stone.

9 cm Slim Profile

Just 3.5″ deep — slips onto narrow consoles, floating shelves, and behind picture frames where deeper lamps won't fit.

Each piece features unique natural veining and pores. Travertine forms over thousands of years in mineral hot springs — pore distribution, veining direction, and tonal warmth vary between pieces. The natural pores allow soft amber light to glow through the stone when lit; this is a feature, not a flaw or crack.

What's a G9 bulb and where do I buy one?

G9 is a small two-pin base — about the size of a USB plug. It's standard for slim and compact lamps, and widely available on Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe's under "G9 LED bulb." We recommend a 25-40W equivalent LED in 2700-3000K warm white, Triac-dimmable. Avoid halogen G9s — they run hot and will warm the stone.

Why do I see light glowing through the stone itself?

That's a feature of natural travertine, not damage. Travertine is a porous stone formed over thousands of years in mineral hot springs — its surface contains thousands of tiny natural pores. When backlit, the warmest light bleeds through these pores, giving the stone a soft amber glow that's impossible to replicate with resin or composite imitations.

Why does my Eclipse look slightly different from the photo?

Each piece is cut from natural silver-grey travertine — pore distribution, veining, and grey tones vary between every block. The photo shows a representative example, not the exact piece you'll receive. Most customers tell us their actual stone is more interesting than the studio photo.

Is the lamp heavy enough to stay put?

Yes — solid stone is substantial by design. The capsule backplate plus the arched column put real weight at the base, anchoring the lamp securely on shelves and consoles. We recommend lifting from the bottom of the backplate, not the front column, when repositioning.

How do I clean the travertine?

Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth — never soak the stone or use acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar, bleach), which can etch the natural pores. The stone ships pre-sealed, so light dusting is all most owners ever need.
