Common questions

Can I hang this from any ceiling hook?

You need a swag hook rated for the fixture weight. The pendant hangs from a single point where you attach your hook. Your electrician or a qualified installer can confirm your ceiling can support it.

What's the difference between 44.9, 56.3, and 59 inches?

All three are total drop measurements from ceiling hook to the bottom lantern. The 44.9-inch version (V1, V4) fits 8-foot ceilings over standard islands. The 56.3-inch version (V8, V11) gives more reach for higher ceilings. The 59-inch version (V15, V18) is the longest drop available.

Do I pick white wire or black wire?

White wire blends into white or light ceilings. Black wire stands out and shows against any ceiling color. Both work electrically the same way.

Which plug type do I need?

US, UK, EU, or AU plugs are available depending on your variant. Check your wall outlet type and select the matching V-number. All include the plug in the box.

What are the available sizes?+

Three heights: ∅ 15.7″ × H 44.9″, ∅ 15.7″ × H 56.3″, and ∅ 15.7″ × H 59″. All feature the same 15.7″ diameter. Custom sizing is available; contact the atelier to discuss your space.

What wire and finish options do you offer?+

Choose white or black wire paired with white mulberry paper shades. Wire color affects the visual weight; black wire recedes while white wire blends with the shade.

How much ceiling height do I need?+

The swag cord is 180″ long, allowing flexible installation height. Measure from your anchor point (ceiling hook or ceiling line) down to where the lamp will hang, accounting for the pendant's length.

What's included in the installation?+

The lamp arrives with a 180″ cord, inline on/off switch, and plug (choose US, UK, EU, or AU). Download the installation guide from our support files for detailed setup instructions.

How do I clean the paper shade?+

Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth. The handcrafted mulberry paper may show minor glue traces along edges—this is normal and part of the hand-bonded construction process.

The Material Japanese Washi —
A Timeless Art

Washi is a traditional Japanese handmade paper crafted from natural plant fibres — kozo (mulberry), mitsumata, and gampi. The meticulous process of stripping, boiling, washing, and beating fibres into pulp, then forming and drying sheets on bamboo screens, yields paper both exceptionally strong and delicately translucent.

Fibre Selection & Preparation

Raw kozo bark is stripped, boiled in ash-lye, and hand-washed to reveal pure, long-strand fibres ready for papermaking.

Sheet Formation

Fibres are beaten into pulp and suspended in water. A bamboo screen is dipped through the suspension, capturing an even, translucent layer of future paper.

Drying & Finishing

Sheets are carefully pressed and sun-dried on wooden boards. The result: paper of singular softness, strength, and warm translucency.

Frame Building & Wrapping

A bamboo or wood armature is assembled by hand. Washi sheets are layered, stretched, and shaped around the frame to form the lantern.

This paper lantern chandelier is easy to assemble and looks beautiful once it's hung. The entire light is made of high-quality materials and fills the room with a soft glow when it's turned on. The cord is a good length and can be connected to most outlets by simply hanging it on the hook, unless you hang it too far from the wall. It creates a great atmosphere whether it's on or off, and is the perfect addition to any room.

I like paper lanterns for easy, ambient lighting in little nooks and crannies in our house and was glad to see a full kit, with hanging hooks and a light cord included. Looks boho and clean.

The lantern is great quality and I'm very happy with the look. I was worried about the paper being too thin and it would tear, but it was no problem to install. The fact that it plugs in makes it perfect for any space (as long as there's an outlet nearby).

This lamp is perfect for adding ambiance to any room. It creates a more balanced lighting effect, and a soft diffuse light is also more suitable.

This was easy to put up and gives off a nice, soft light. It's pretty good size, a little bigger than expected, so I like that.

Its easy to put together, and the cord is definitely long enough. The paper shade does a wonderful job of diffusing the light so its not harsh, but I couldnt believe how much it lit up the whole room! It looks beautiful lit up at night, and now I enjoy spending time in my living room after sunset because the lighting makes it feel so warm and cozy, while still being well-lit enough that I can work on my knitting or read without struggling.

This lamp was very easy to install and it looks great hanging in our guest room. The quality is nice and the paper shade is thick and well made. It adds a unique design element to the room at a very affordable price.
