About natural travertine
The ring is hand-cut from natural travertine. Open pores, surface pitting, and color banding vary piece to piece — these are core characteristics of the stone, not defects or damage. No two are identical.
About the wood part
The internal holder is real wood — grain pattern and tone vary by piece. It is largely concealed within the fixture, and the photograph shows a representative sample.

How is this different from the other travertine pendants?
Its shape and orientation. The Donut is a low, wide travertine ring that hangs flat and casts light down through an open base — a quiet, horizontal silhouette. The Sliced Globe is a cut sphere, the Ribbed a vertical ribbed cylinder, the Hourglass two stacked bowls, and the Squircle a drum under a square plate. Pick Donut for the lowest-profile, most pebble-like look.
The travertine has holes and pits — is that a defect?
No — those are natural to travertine. Open pores, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of the stone, not flaws or shipping damage. The ring is hand-cut, so no two are exactly alike; that variation is the point of a natural-stone fixture.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED is integrated and rated over 30,000 hours — roughly 25 years at 3 hours of daily use. It isn't a user-swappable bulb; if it fails within or after the warranty period, contact authorized service with your order number for a replacement LED module rather than replacing the whole fixture.
How low does it hang, and where does it work best?
It hangs from a slim rigid downrod, so the drop is fixed on install (shortened on-site, or ordered longer for stairwells). The low ⌀7.9″ × H2.8″ profile suits a single spot over a nightstand, a small table, or in a row over an island. Email us your ceiling height for a custom drop.
Can I install it in a bathroom, and what's the warranty?
Only away from water — it's rated IP20 for indoor dry locations, so keep it clear of shower or tub spray. Travertine is porous and absorbs moisture. 2-year warranty on the fixture and wiring; the LED is covered under the same warranty. What size should I choose for my kitchen island or dining table?+
For a dining table or island, the 2-Head (L 21.7″) or 3-Head (L 39.4″) work best depending on surface length. Hang so the stone base sits 30–36″ above the work surface. Single-head suits smaller accent zones. Our atelier can custom-size the downrod length to fit your ceiling height.
Can this pendant be dimmed?+
Yes, the integrated LED is dimmable with a compatible wall dimmer (not included). Standard dimmers work with this fixture. Confirm dimmer compatibility with your electrician during installation.
What is the natural travertine look like—are the holes and pits defects?+
No. Open pores, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of natural travertine, not defects. Each hand-cut ring reads slightly differently. The porous surface catches light and creates the material's warm, organic character.
Can the LED be replaced?+
The LED is integrated into the fixture. When end-of-life arrives, contact Vakkerlight with your order number for authorized LED replacement service rather than replacing the entire pendant.
What is the installation process?+
This is hardwired, ceiling-suspended on a slim rigid downrod. A licensed electrician is recommended. The fixture mounts to your ceiling electrical box; the electrician adjusts the downrod drop so the stone sits at table height (typically 30–36″ above the work surface).
