Which body + glass combination should I choose?
Gold + Amber: warmest, most glamorous — Art Deco interiors, cocktail bars, hospitality. Gold + Green (shown): rich and moody — libraries, dining rooms, dark walls. Gold + Clear: most luminous, classic. Black + Smoke Gray: contemporary minimalist. Black + Sky Blue: unexpected modern pop. Black + White or Frosted: clean Scandinavian. The seven glass colors plus two body finishes give 14 combinations — pick by room palette.
Is the glass really mouth-blown?
Yes — each cylinder is hand-finished by glassblowers, with the color either applied to the interior surface or mixed into the molten glass. Hand-blown glass has subtle variation in wall thickness, color saturation, and shape — these are signatures of the process, not defects. From a few feet away, the variation reads as character; close-up you'll see slight tonal shifts that mass-produced glass doesn't have.
What bulb? How bright?
GU10 base. A 5–7W GU10 LED in 2700K warm white gives focused downward glow through the long cylinder shade (about 400–500 lumens). Clear glass shows the bulb's filament; frosted, white, and colored glass diffuse the light evenly. For accent or bedside, this is ideal; for primary room lighting, install in pairs or layer with overhead. Bulbs not included.
Can I get a plug-in version instead of hardwired?
Yes — there's a dedicated plug-in version of this lamp (linked above). It has the same arched arm and cylinder shade but ships with a cord, plug, and inline switch instead of hardwiring. Useful for rentals, dorm rooms, or any wall where you can't install a junction box. Alternatively, the Pinterest guide above shows how some hardwired models can be DIY-converted to plug-in.
How do I clean the glass cylinder?
Glass is removable for cleaning. Unscrew the bulb, lift the cylinder off the arm, and wash with warm water and mild dish soap. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth before reinstalling. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh cleaners which can scratch the glass or strip the colored finish. Wipe the brass arm with a dry microfiber; for tarnish, use light brass polish on a soft cloth.
