The Eventide Orb Sconce features a deeply textured black travertine base, crafted to evoke the raw, mysterious beauty of cosmic matter. Its rich, dark surface is subtly granular — tactile and visually intriguing. Perched elegantly atop this unique base is a luminous milky white spherical bulb, casting a soft, inviting glow that contrasts beautifully with the sconce's earthy, rugged character. About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The base of this sconce is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The entire stone presents a consistent matte black — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.
