Don’t know how to install solar lights yet?

After completing your yard's makeover, you may find it difficult to enjoy the beauty of your space once darkness falls. Maybe while navigating the garden paths at night, you've stumbled more than once. Installing outdoor solar lights could be a brilliant solution, not only illuminating your yard but also potentially enhancing your home's value. These eco-friendly lights can make your outdoor areas safer and more inviting, allowing you to enjoy your beautifully landscaped space at any hour. Consider this upgrade to extend the functionality and appeal of your outdoor living areas into the night.

How Do You Install Outdoor Solar Lights?

Choosing Your Lights:

  1. Garden stakes can be used to highlight a path, and string lights can decorate patios, gardens and balconies. You can also find solar lights that attach to walls or fence posts.
  2. Select durable solar lights suited for outdoor conditions.
  3. Ensure the lights provide sufficient brightness.
  4. Consider buying in bulk for better cost efficiency.

Initial Preparation:

  • Charge your lights in full sunlight for about 12 hours before installation.

Installation of Stake Lights:

  1. Placement: Decide where to install the stakes.
  2. Foundation Stakes: Use a rubber mallet to hammer them into the ground. Water the soil beforehand to ease installation. Use a level to ensure they're straight.
  3. Light Posts: Attach the lights to the stakes. Ensure solar panels face maximum sunlight.
  4. Position remote solar panels: If you want to put lights somewhere shaded, use stakes with remote panels that attach with wire. Put the panel in a sunny spot and follow the instructions to attach the wire. Don’t exceed the length of the wire and keep the panel close to the light so you don’t need to bury it.
  5. Activation: Switch on the lights or check if they auto-activate at dusk.

Installing String Lights:

  1. Solar Panel Placement: Install the panel in a sunny area.
  2. Light Placement: Decide the arrangement of the string lights. Avoid pathways for safety.
  3. Mounting: Use hooks or staples for hanging the lights.

Other Types of Outdoor Solar Lights

Most outdoor solar lights that are designed to be placed on a wall or fence post come with mounting hardware so they can be easily attached. Follow the included instructions to make sure they’re mounted securely.

Maintenance:

  • Regularly clean the solar panels to remove dust or debris to maintain efficiency.

Placement Tips:

  • Ensure each light gets about eight hours of direct sunlight. Use markers to test and adjust placement for optimal sunlight exposure.

This guide is crafted to be straightforward and easy to understand, ensuring a smooth installation process for your solar lights.

Hi, we purchased the Boilyn solar lights which came with absolutely no paperwork whatsoever. We don’t know how to install them on the sandstone pillar tops. We set them out for 2 days now and nothing comes on at night. They came with small little remotes that are also not working. Does the main post light take batteries? It seems that what we paid for them, they would have instructions and some sort of paperwork and work when out in the sunlight now for many hours. I need first of all, some instruction paperwork on how to operate and install. Thank you. Tamera Duliba
