A horizontal stone bar sconce — a wide, low-profile backplate of natural travertine or marble mounted flat to the wall, with a glass shade set into the face. The elongated format suits the spaces where a round sconce would feel too small: beside a wide mirror, flanking a headboard, or running along a corridor wall. Three stone finishes — Ivory Travertine, Red Travertine, and Amethyst Marble — each bringing a different temperature and character to the same clean form. G9 fitting, hardwired.
Hardwired wall install
This sconce hardwires directly to a wall junction box — it is not plug-in. A licensed electrician is recommended. Always turn off power at the breaker before installation.

This sconce uses a G9 bi-pin base, which is less common in North American hardware stores than E26. G9 LED capsules are widely available online — Amazon, Home Depot's website, and lighting specialty retailers all carry them. Search "G9 LED warm white 3W" or "G9 LED 5W 2700K". - Switch off power at the breaker before installation. A licensed electrician is recommended for hardwired wall connection to the junction box.
- Mount the stone backplate flush to the wall over the junction box using the included hardware. Ensure the backplate is level — the horizontal format makes any tilt immediately visible.
- Insert a G9 LED capsule (sold separately, ≤5W recommended) into the G9 socket. For dimming, use a dimmable G9 LED and pair with a Triac-compatible wall dimmer switch.
- Attach the glass shade and restore power. The wall switch controls the sconce.
- Wipe the stone backplate with a dry or barely damp microfiber cloth — avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products), which can etch natural stone. Clean the glass shade with a soft dry cloth. Do not submerge either component.
What is G9, and can I find bulbs in the US?
G9 is a bi-pin bulb base — two small metal pins that push directly into the socket. It is standard in European wall sconces and compact decorative fittings. G9 LED capsules are widely available online: Amazon, Home Depot's website, and lighting specialty retailers all carry them. Search "G9 LED warm white 3W" or "G9 LED 5W 2700K". We recommend ≤5W at 2700–3000K warm white to suit the glass shade's output.
Is the stone real travertine or marble?
Yes — the backplate is natural stone. Ivory and Red are travertine, a sedimentary stone with characteristic open pitting and flowing banded veins. Amethyst is a marble with fine violet and grey toning. Because these are natural materials, each piece carries unique veining and slight tonal variation — no two sconces are identical. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus) on any stone surface; wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth only. Confirm exact stone type (natural vs. sintered) with us if needed for your project.
Which finish should I choose?
Ivory Travertine is the bestselling finish — its warm cream tones and open pitted surface work across the widest range of interiors, from Japandi and minimalist to warm contemporary. Red Travertine brings a saturated terracotta warmth suited to earth-toned, Mediterranean-inspired, or maximalist rooms. Amethyst Marble is the coolest of the three — its violet and grey tones make a considered jewel-toned accent against white, grey, or dark-painted walls. All three use the same glass shade and G9 fitting.
Can I use it beside a mirror or above a vanity?
Yes — the horizontal bar format is particularly well suited to flanking a wide mirror or running above a bathroom vanity. For a vanity application, install one sconce centred above the mirror at around 75–80 cm (30–32″) above the basin, or two sconces either side of the mirror at eye level (around 150–165 cm / 59–65″ from the floor). This sconce is rated IP20 — suitable for dry bathroom zones only, not directly above or beside a shower or bath.
Is it dimmable?
Yes — fit a dimmable G9 LED capsule and pair with a Triac-compatible wall dimmer switch. Most G9 LED capsules sold as "dimmable" are Triac-compatible. Avoid using a non-dimmable G9 bulb on a dimmer circuit, which can cause flickering or buzzing.
How is it installed, and does it need an electrician?
This is a hardwired wall sconce that connects to a wall junction box. A licensed electrician is recommended. The stone backplate mounts flush to the wall with the included hardware — because the format is horizontal, use a spirit level during installation to ensure a straight hang. An experienced DIYer can install it where local codes allow.
