Het verhaal van onze schelplamp.

Uit Indonesië afkomstige schelpen, natuurlijk gevormd en deskundig met de hand verwerkt. We beginnen met zorgvuldig geselecteerde, geïmporteerde schelpen uit Indonesië — elk grondige gewassen, verfijnd, en met de hand gepolijst om de natuurlijke vorm, dikte, doorzichtigheid en organische textuur te benadrukken. Geen twee schelpen zijn identiek — hun subtiele variaties geven elke Vakkerlight-lamp zijn eigen authentieke karakter en ziel.

Het Materiaal

Irisatie, door de oceaan voortgebracht.

Eeuwenlang zijn capiz, parelmoer en abalone gewaardeerd om de manier waarop zij licht vangen — doorschijnend, opaliscrend, nooit precies dezelfde kleur twee keer. Geen twee schelpen zijn identiek; geen twee lampen zullen ooit exact dezelfde gloed uitwerpen.

Elk stuk in deze collectie is met de hand uitgesneden, met de hand gesorteerd, en samengesteld door ervaren vakmannen — waarbij de natuurlijke variatie van het materiaal als onderdeel van het ontwerp behouden blijft.

In onze werkplaats wordt elke schelplamp met de hand samengesteld — niet door machines — tot het ritme van het stuk levendig aanvoelt, als golven die zacht over de kust bewegen.

Elke schelp hangt individueel – verbonden met kleine metalen ringen of transparante draden, nooit gelijmd of geperst.

Hoeken, afstand en uitlijning worden met de hand afgesteld – elk stuk wordt beoordeeld op de natuurlijke valtocht van licht en vorm.

Het resultaat voelt evenwichtig en levend – samengesteld, niet mechanisch. Elke lamp draagt de intentie van de maker van de eerste schelp tot de laatste.

A little time consuming to install, but worth it

It was worth the two to three hours it took to install & string the shells, as this is a great addition to our beach home.

I was looking for a designer alternative that didnt break the bank. This is a really nice chandelier and its almost identical to a $6000 one I was initially looking at. I had to get a handyman to help me install it since we have tall ceilings but I was able to do the rest.

This is a delightful light. I bought 2. Put one in the front hall. When the door opens there is a slight tinkling sound from the movement of the air. The instructions are a little sparse but put the light up, then attach the strings of shells, especially if flush mounting.

Im in love with this light fixture. Its beautiful. The assembly took some time, as advertised, but the directions were straightforward, the assembly was easy, and the time spent was very worth it. I just stand in the room flipping the switch on and off like a weirdo while I admire it. Love it.

The light looks just like the pictures. It's good quality and easy to hang and assemble. Love it.

Just what we needed over our tiny kitchen nook. Perfect coastal feel for our Florida home. Oh, and I love that it sounds like a wind chime when the windows are open. Super Cute!!

This shell pendant light is awesome. Reasonably priced with a big lighting statement. My light arrived quickly. We installed and I started attaching the shells. We were missing a few shells so I reached out to customer service. They quickly sent replacements and we are 150% satisfied as always with Vakkerlight.

I love this light, installation was easy, its elevated my living room decore & it was affordable. Although a chandelier it takes the basic little night light bulbs which is perfect because they are hugely affordable & accessible.

This chandelier was the perfect soft elegant touch to the dining room. I added a dimmer switch to enhance the effects to set the mood. The shells are delicate and can break if dropped, but there were extras included so not to worry. Love the soft sound it makes when an open window sends a gentle breeze.

Got this for my main bath remodel, looking for the perfect small chandelier for over the soaking tub and this was it! The light is soft and perfect for soaking in the tub, this is not a light for lighting up a room but is awesome for a soft glow.
