Die Akari Reispapier-Stehleuchte setzt das Erbe einer der beliebtesten Leuchtendesigns des 20. Jahrhunderts fort. Gefertigt aus Maulbeerpapier, das über ein Metallgerüst gespannt ist, wirft sie ein warmes, weiches Licht, das jeden Raum in einen Ort der stillen Ruhe verwandelt.

"Die Inspiration stammt aus einem Besuch im japanischen Fischerdorf Gifu, wo Noguchi Fischern bei der Arbeit zusah — mit trainierten Kormoranen bei der Jagd und Laternen, um Fische anzulocken. Diese Laternen hatten Rippen aus Bambus, bedeckt mit feinem Papier. Er übernahm dieses Design, um seine eigenen Lichtskulpturen zu schaffen, und verwendete Papier aus dem Maulbeerbaum — weil es das Licht weicher macht und es gleichmäßig verteilt."

Ist das eine offizielle Noguchi Akari-Leuchte?

Nein. Dies ist eine von Vakkerlight verkaufte designinspirierte Leuchte. Sie nutzt die gleiche Maulbeerpapier-Konstruktion und Bambusrippen-Struktur wie Noguchis ursprüngliche Akari-Designs, ist aber kein offizielles Produkt des Noguchi Museums oder von Ozeki & Co.

Benötigt es eine Festinstallation oder einen Elektriker?

Nein. Dies ist eine Stehleuchte mit Stecker, mit einem Kabel von 150 cm Länge und Standard-US-Stecker. Stecken Sie sie einfach ein und kontrollieren Sie sie mit dem Inline-Druckschalter. Kein Elektriker erforderlich.

Welche Größen sind verfügbar?

Vier Größenoptionen: Akari 10A (Ø50 cm × H120 cm), Akari 14A schmal (Ø33 cm × H162 cm), Akari 14A breit (Ø47 cm × H190 cm) und eine Large-Version (Ø52 cm × H188 cm).

Welches Leuchtmittel wird verwendet?

Standard-E26 (oder E27) Fassung. LED- oder Edison-Stil-Leuchtmittel funktionieren beide. Ein warmweißes Leuchtmittel (2200–2700K) wird empfohlen, um das warme, diffuse Papierleuchten-Licht zu erreichen. Leuchtmittel nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten.

Gibt es spezielle Verdrahtungsanweisungen während der Montage?

Ja. Während der Montage verbinden Sie das schwarze Kabel mit Loch Nummer 2 und das weiße Kabel mit Loch Nummer 3. Folgen Sie dem Verdrahtungsschema in der Box und der Montageanleitungoben.

Kann der Papierschirm nass werden?

Nein. Der Maulbeerbaum-Papierschirm ist nicht wasserbeständig. Halten Sie ihn fern von Feuchtigkeit und feuchten Umgebungen. Nur für Innengebrauch (IP20-zertifiziert).

The Material Japanese Washi —
A Timeless Art

Washi is a traditional Japanese handmade paper crafted from natural plant fibres — kozo (mulberry), mitsumata, and gampi. The meticulous process of stripping, boiling, washing, and beating fibres into pulp, then forming and drying sheets on bamboo screens, yields paper both exceptionally strong and delicately translucent.

From fibre to finished glow — every stage of a paper lantern's creation is guided by trained hands, quiet focus, and generations of inherited knowledge.

Fibre Selection & Preparation

Raw kozo bark is stripped, boiled in ash-lye, and hand-washed to reveal pure, long-strand fibres ready for papermaking.

Sheet Formation

Fibres are beaten into pulp and suspended in water. A bamboo screen is dipped through the suspension, capturing an even, translucent layer of future paper.

Drying & Finishing

Sheets are carefully pressed and sun-dried on wooden boards. The result: paper of singular softness, strength, and warm translucency.

Frame Building & Wrapping

A bamboo or wood armature is assembled by hand. Washi sheets are layered, stretched, and shaped around the frame to form the lantern.

Hand-Painted Motifs

Artisans apply traditional patterns — brushstrokes of ink, botanical motifs, geometric forms — directly onto the washi surface. No two are identical.

Great lamps!

I absolutely love these lamps! I needed softer lighting for my living room, but am not a big fan of torch-style floor lamps. I took a chance on these because the price was so reasonable and I am so happy with them! They cast the perfect amount of light without causing glare on my tv, are much sturdier than I expected, and I love that they have a floor switch. The covers are paper, but they're pretty sturdy, and it really helps to diffuse the light nicely. Seller shipped these very quickly.

Great light for a corner

These lights are a great value! I needed something that lit up a corner from top to bottom, so not a tall light that shone only high up, nor one that was down on the floor, but all along, from top to bottom. It is a pleasant soft light illuminating the entire corner. And since its sent as a pair, its instantly decorative. A pair looks like it was planned, not just a random thought.

This lamp is very easy to assemble. Light bulbs and paper lampshades bring beautiful, soft, even light to the corners of the room.

I love these lights and have no issues using them. I used a natural light bulb because I wanted it to be brighter. They are easy to put together. Excellent product and great price!

Sweet little paper floor latern

Not bad! I was worried after seeing some of the reviews, but its actually fine. Its delicate and not very sturdy. But it's a cute accent piece.

I've owned a few of these. Just be careful and patient putting on the shade. It's paper. I reduce bulb watts to 20 to 25. Nice ambiance.

I love that it's dimmable and use it in the living room to help me wind down from the day, keeping it on low. The warm, low glow is very soft and soothing. A really nice style choice, grab one!

This light is adorable and I think it's worth purchasing only if you have a small room and this is why: the small doesn't produce a lot of light and it might be hard to put together if you're weak like me?? but other than that it's very adorable and plus it's warm lighting which we love over here ??!! If you are looking for a cute Japanese style lamp this is made for you!!!!

For the price (inexpensive) they are nice - certainly look nice. Yes, they are not the strongest and sturdiest build but they are functional and attractive. Active pets and children "may" cause them some harm. Would be nice if they were taller - but they are what they are. I am happy with my purchase.

A very unique and beautiful lamp

This lamp is so unique and beautiful, but also incredibly delicate (like, you could easily and accidentally poke your fingers right through the paper of the lamp). You have to be very careful to not break that paper, especially when setting the paper shade onto the base. Speaking of setting it up, I found the instructions to be absolutely useless and very unhelpful -- that being said, it's not difficult to figure out how to set this thing up; you just have a look at all the bits for a minute and your brain will figure it out rather quick. Super easy setup, and miniature tools are provided in the box to assist in the setup process. The bulb that came with the lamp will cycle through three different colours each off/on you do with the switch, but the colours are varying shades of blue/white light--which I didn't like; it made things look too sterile and white (like a hospital, ick). So, I bought a 40watt e26 base vintage amber coloured led bulb to replace it ... and having a warm toned light bulb truly makes this lamp shine! It also brings a lot of warmth to the room, as well as life. It's also a very calming lamp to look at when you sit and stare off into oblivion after a long and defeating workday. Now, I do think it's rather expensive for what you get ... but ask me if I regret this purchase? Not at all. I am in love with this lamp. The lamp is a piece of art, and I hope it will last me for many years to come. Definitely recommend ????

While very overpriced for what it is, this is a lovely lamp for ambient (max. 40W) light. Disappointed that the light bulb that is included with the lamp is a 40W LED cool-light bulb which gives off a cold light. We felt compelled to replace it with a comparable warm light bulb which improved it for us. Well packaged and assembly directions are quite straight forward.
