Breathe in Nature, Woven in Light
Vakkerlight Artisan Collection

A fully handcrafted bamboo and rattan lighting collection — trading industrial coldness for the warmth of the mountains, the resilience of rattan, and soft, wabi-sabi light, brought home to you.

Woven in Time:
A Heritage Craft, Shaped by Hand

No machine can replicate a craftsman's feel for rattan tension. From splitting and scraping raw bamboo culms to the intricate interlacing of rattan strands, a single medium-sized bamboo lamp can take a master artisan several days to complete.

Not a drop of glue is used at the joints — only refined mortise-and-tenon joinery and hand-tied rattan knots. This is more than a lighting fixture; it is a dialogue between humanity and nature across time, carrying marks of life that can never be repeated.

*Note: The natural grain, subtle color variation, and hand-woven finishing marks on the bamboo and rattan surface are nature's gift and proof of craftsmanship — not imperfections.

Uncompromising Natural Materials

THE VAKKERLIGHT STANDARD

The Vakkerlight Standard

Five-Year Mountain Bamboo & Indonesian Rattan

We select mature bamboo grown at high altitude for five years or more as the frame, prized for its exceptional strength. The woven surface uses natural Indonesian rattan that develops a warm patina with age and light exposure.

Deep Physical Carbonization

Each piece undergoes rigorous high-temperature, high-pressure steaming and physical carbonization dehydration — thoroughly mold- and insect-resistant with zero chemical treatment, built to last for years to come.

Cheap Market Alternatives

Cheap PE Plastic Faux Rattan

Distinctly plastic and lifeless. It often gives off an odor under light exposure and quickly grows brittle with age, losing any sense of premium home décor quality.

Untreated Low-Grade Bamboo

Manufacturers skip the complex steaming and carbonization process to cut costs. In humid environments, it quickly blackens, molds, or attracts insects — a serious hygiene risk in the home.

Forged by Nature and Craftsmanship

Every lamp is born from hundreds of meticulous steps. This is not mere manufacturing — it is a discipline.

Mountain Harvest & Splitting

Premium mature bamboo is harvested only in specific seasons, then hand-split by veteran artisans into evenly sized strips. The green outer skin is scraped away, leaving only the toughest inner layer to form the lamp's frame.

High-Temperature Carbonization

The raw bamboo and rattan are steamed and carbonized in specialized high-pressure kilns, eliminating sugars and insect larvae while locking in their natural color.

Woven Warp and Weft

Bypassing the modern assembly line, artisans use time-honored techniques to weave rattan strands through the bamboo frame by hand. Every knot demands precise strength and experience.

Nature's Brush of Light and Shadow

The true magic of bamboo and rattan lighting reveals itself the moment it's switched on. The irregular woven lattice acts as a natural filter, casting a dreamlike cascade of dappled, geometric light and shadow across your space.

100% Natural & Eco-Friendly

Renewable plant fibers, zero plastic added

Handcrafted by Artisans

Heritage weaving technique — every piece is one of a kind

Insect- & Moisture-Resistant

Deep high-temperature carbonization for lasting durability

Soft, Eye-Friendly Light

Woven gaps filter harsh glare for warm, comfortable ambiance

I love everything about this chandelier, the design is so lifelike and it fits in with my farmhouse style decor. I love it so much.

Beautiful chandelier, very warm light and patterns projected on the ceiling. I love it.

This rattan chandelier hangs in my wife's office and has become a topic of conversation during her meetings. The rattan design gives the room a warm and natural atmosphere, which is both cozy and exquisite. The craftsmanship is exquisite, the light is soft and comfortable, pleasing to the eye, and very artistic.

This pendant light adds a sophisticated, understated elegance to any space without compromising style. It's functional, looks great, and makes just the right amount of statement.

This rattan chandelier has become a stunning focal point in my dining room, drawing compliments from everyone who sees it! The delicate rattan design casts a captivating pattern of light and shadow on the ceiling when lit, while the soft, warm glow provides the perfect mood lighting for dinner parties. Highly recommended.

The natural rattan hat-like design blends in perfectly with my modern farmhouse decor as well as my mother's traditional Asian tea room, for which I later ordered a second one. What impressed me most was how easily this lamp can switch between an elegant and formal vibe at the dining table and a cozy and Zen vibe in the bedroom.

This rattan chandelier features superior craftsmanship and timeless beauty - like bringing a peaceful piece of nature indoors.

This lamp is bright and airy, creating a warmer atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This design is perfect for our living room and foyer. The light-colored rattan structure matches the coffee table in the living room. The lamp has a soft glow inside and is very easy to install, mainly due to its lightweight design.

This chandelier is well made, with beautiful lampshade color, good lighting effect, excellent quality, beautiful appearance and unique style.

I wanted to create a beach vibe in my home so I chose rattan decor. This chandelier was a perfect choice.

It's so unique and reminds me of the natural colors of the hippie era. I love it so much and seeing it lit up, what else can I say? It's so beautiful.

I am SO happy with this light! It arrived quickly and was packaged well, it is light-weight and therefore very easy to hang, it is beautiful with the light on or off and was exactly what I wanted! Highly recommend if youre going for a boho look!
