Are the holes in the stone a defect?
Not at all. The pitting and holes are the defining natural characteristics of genuine travertine stone. We leave the stone unfilled to preserve its raw, tactile wabi-sabi aesthetic.
Can this sconce be installed in a bathroom?
Yes, this fixture is IP20 Damp-rated. It is perfectly suitable for installation beside a bathroom vanity mirror where ambient moisture exists, but it must not be placed inside a shower or exposed to direct water spray.
Is the stone base heavy?
Yes, because the base is carved from a solid block of natural travertine, the fixture has a premium weight to it. Your electrician should ensure the wall junction box is securely anchored during installation.
Can I use a dimmer switch?
Yes. By purchasing a dimmable G9 bulb (LED or Halogen) and connecting the sconce to a compatible wall dimmer switch, you can easily control the brightness to create a soothing atmosphere.
How do I clean the travertine?
