A solid cube of Spanish alabaster — nothing more. No hardware visible, no shade, no base. A single integrated LED inside the stone turns the cube into a glowing geological lantern: the warm light reveals the translucent white stone's inner veining and cloud-like mineral banding from every side simultaneously. Place it on a shelf, a console table, a nightstand, or a desk — it reads equally well as a sculpture unlit and as a lamp when lit. Available in three sizes.

Pure Cube Form

No visible hardware, no shade — the entire object is solid alabaster, glowing from within.

Spanish Alabaster

Translucent natural stone — veining, cloud-banding, and color vary per piece.

Integrated LED

Built-in LED — sealed inside the stone, no bulb access needed, long service life.

Three Sizes

Small · Medium · Large — display singly or cluster two or three in the same space.

Object & Lamp

Reads as sculpture when unlit; becomes a warm glowing lantern when switched on.

Plug-In

Standard wall outlet — no hardwiring or electrician required.

Spanish Alabaster — formed by nature, unique to each piece

Each cube is carved from solid Spanish alabaster — a translucent sedimentary gypsum stone formed over geological timescales. The vein pattern, cloud-like mineral banding, color depth, and degree of translucency differ from block to block. The photograph shows a representative example. Your cube will carry its own singular geological character.

Natural surface variation — pores, tonal gradients, and texture

Alabaster naturally contains fine fissures, tonal gradients, and subtle surface texture that form during its geological development. These are authentic characteristics of genuine stone, not manufacturing defects. The stone's inner veining and cloud banding become most visible — and most beautiful — when the cube is illuminated from within.

Integrated LED — long lifespan & service support

The LED is sealed inside the alabaster cube and is not user-accessible. It is rated for an exceptionally long service life under normal use. Should the LED ever fail, our support team can assist with a replacement or service — contact us and we will ensure your cube continues to work for years to come.

The LED module is built into the interior of the alabaster cube — the stone itself conceals all hardware. There is no bulb to change or socket to access. The light exits through every face of the cube, revealing the stone's translucency, veining, and cloud-like mineral structure as a warm, diffused glow.

  • Plug-in — no electrician required. Connect to a standard wall outlet.
  • Place on a flat, stable surface. The alabaster is solid stone — ensure the surface can support the weight, especially for the Large size.
  • The LED is integrated and sealed inside the stone. Do not attempt to disassemble or access the interior.
  • Clean with a soft dry cloth only. Do not use water, vinegar, or chemical cleaners, which can etch or stain the alabaster surface.
  • Avoid placing in direct prolonged sunlight, which can alter the stone's tone over time.
  • For indoor dry locations only. Not suitable for bathrooms or damp environments.

How does the cube emit light — there's no visible hardware?

The LED module and all electrical components are concealed inside the alabaster block. The cord exits from the underside. Because alabaster is a naturally translucent stone, the LED light passes through the stone itself — every face of the cube glows simultaneously, revealing the veining and mineral structure from within. There is no separate shade or diffuser; the stone is the diffuser.

Which size should I choose?

The Small (D12×H14 cm) works well on a nightstand, desk, or shelf where you want subtle ambient light. The Medium (D20×H20 cm) is the most versatile — strong enough to anchor a console or coffee table while remaining approachable in scale. The Large (D30×H30 cm) makes a genuine statement piece on a dining sideboard or entryway table; it also produces significantly more light. Two or three cubes in different sizes grouped together on one surface create a compelling geological still-life.

Will my cube look exactly like the photo?

The cube form and dimensions will match. The alabaster's veining, cloud-like mineral banding, color depth, and degree of translucency will differ, because each block of stone is unique. The photograph shows a representative example with a characteristic white-to-cream tone and subtle amber veining. Your cube will share the same overall character but carry its own geological signature.

Can I replace the LED?

No — the LED is sealed inside the alabaster and is not user-accessible. It is rated for a very long service life under normal use. If the LED fails, contact our support team; we offer an ongoing light source service and can provide a compatible replacement or service the piece.

Is alabaster fragile?

Alabaster is softer than granite or marble and more sensitive to impact and scratching. Handle with care. Place on a stable, flat surface and avoid moving frequently. Clean only with a soft dry cloth; do not use water, vinegar, or chemical cleaners, which can etch or discolor the stone over time.

Sizing & questions

Every piece is made to order in our own atelier — here is what most clients ask before choosing theirs.

What sizes does the Alabaster Cube come in?+

Three sizes: Small 4.7″ × 5.5″ (diameter × height), Medium 7.9″ × 7.9″, and Large 11.8″ × 11.8″. Cluster two or three cubes in the same room or display singly on shelves, nightstands, or console tables.

Does each alabaster cube look different?+

Yes. Each cube is carved from solid Spanish alabaster, a natural translucent stone. Veining, cloud-like mineral banding, color depth, and translucency vary from block to block. Your cube will carry its own singular geological character.

How is the lamp installed and what plugs are available?+

Plug-in only—no electrician needed. Connect to any standard wall outlet. Available with US, UK, AU, or EU plugs. Simply place on a flat, stable surface that can support the stone's weight.

Can I replace the LED bulb if it burns out?+

The LED is sealed inside the alabaster and rated for exceptionally long service life. Should it ever fail, contact our support team for replacement or service assistance—we'll ensure your cube continues to work for years.

Is the Alabaster Cube a lamp or a sculpture?+

Both. Unlit, it reads as a pure alabaster sculpture with no visible hardware or shade. When switched on, warm light from within reveals the stone's translucency and veining, transforming it into a glowing geological lantern.

Know the Material

A stone that lets light through.

Alabaster is a soft, fine-grained mineral. Cut thin and polished, it turns light into an even, candle-warm glow — no glare, no hard edges.

  • ii.

    Natural veining

Honey and grey veins that come alive when the lamp is lit.

One Stone, Many Characters

Choose your veining.

Alabaster comes from the earth in many moods — from clean milk-white to bold, dark veins. Pick the one that suits your room.

Natural stone varies from piece to piece — photos show the typical character of each texture.

Choose for the space.

Dining Room

Size the fixture to the table, not the room — a ring or linear globe pendant follows its shape and keeps light on the meal.

Hanging height: 30–36″ (76–91 cm) above the tabletop; fixture about ½–⅔ of the table width.

Living Room

The largest room takes the boldest piece — a ring or multi-globe chandelier scaled to the seating area.

Wall sconces: around 60–66″ (152–168 cm) from the floor to the centre of the shade.

Bedroom

Low ceilings and quiet evenings call for close-to-ceiling discs and small shades — the stone's glow is made for winding down.

Bedside sconces: 30–36″ (76–91 cm) above the mattress, 6–10″ outside the headboard edge.

Entryway

The first light guests see. A single globe pendant or a pair of sconces sets the tone at the door.

Clearance: keep at least 7 ft (213 cm) from floor to the bottom of the fixture; in two-storey foyers, hang it level with the upper window.

Size Guide

Find the right size.

Move the sliders to your room or table — we'll suggest a fixture size and hanging height.

These are designer rules of thumb. Every product page lists exact dimensions — or ask a designer to check your plan.

Got this for our living room shelf and it's exactly what I was going for. The alabaster has this soft natural veining that honestly makes it look way more expensive.
