Open-Bottom Design (Bulb Visibility) This ceiling light features an open-bottom design. There is no glass or fabric diffuser covering the bottom opening.
What this means: This design allows for bright, direct illumination and makes changing light bulbs incredibly easy.
Please Note: Because the bottom is open, the internal hardware and bulbs (the "guts" of the light) will be visible if you are looking directly up at the fixture from below.

What are the two available sizes?+
The smaller version is ∅ 17.7″ × H 11.0″; the larger is ∅ 21.7″ × H 13.4″. Both mount flush to the ceiling. Custom sizing is available through our atelier—contact us to discuss options.
Will I see the bulb and internal hardware from below?+
Yes. This lamp has an open-bottom design with no diffuser, so the bulb and wiring are visible from directly underneath. This design simplifies bulb changes and allows bright, direct illumination.
What bulbs does this fixture use?+
The Vela Twist accepts LED or Edison bulbs with E26 or E27 base type. Both are readily available. Bulbs are easy to replace thanks to the open-bottom design.
How is this lamp controlled?+
The fixture is hardwired and compatible with a standard wall switch (not included). Connect it to an external wall light switch for on/off control. Triac dimming options are available—ask our team about dimming capability.
Is this ceiling lamp suitable for kitchens or living rooms?+
