About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The drop shade of this wall lamp is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The pores and organic variations visible in each piece are authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

Is the travertine naturally black?
No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
How does it mount to the wall?
The lamp mounts via a minimalist metal arm that fixes directly to the wall. The stone shade suspends from the end of the arm in a drop configuration. Full installation instructions are included in the Installation Guide.
