Walnut-Finish Resin · Matte Black Steel · G9

Aperture Wall Sconce — a walnut-finish capsule with a frosted globe

Aperture is a wall sconce that reads like a small framed pendant — a vertical capsule backplate in walnut-finish resin, with a slim matte-black steel rod descending to a frosted glass globe at the bottom. The capsule's recessed interior catches the warm glow and reflects it across the wall for a brighter, softer wash of light.

Compact at W 5.5″ x H 15″ / W 14cm x H 38cm — sized for hallways, bedside flanking, narrow consoles, and powder-room walls. Hardwired installation by a licensed electrician. One G9 bulb.

Walnut-Finish Capsule

Sculpted resin backplate with a warm walnut wood-grain finish — the look of natural walnut at an accessible price, with consistent grain and no maintenance.

Matte Black Steel Rod

Slim vertical rod and circular ring frame in matte black powder-coated steel — architectural contrast against the warm wood-grain backdrop.

Hardwired Installation

Connects to a standard wall junction box — requires a licensed electrician. G9 socket with a frosted glass globe diffuser.

What it's made of

Backplate
Sculpted resin with walnut wood-grain finish — not solid wood
Hardware
Matte black powder-coated steel — rod, ring frame, wall mount
Diffuser
Frosted opal glass globe — diffuses warm light evenly
Light Source
1 × G9 bulb
Walnut look, not solid wood. The warm walnut tone is a wood-grain finish on a sculpted resin backplate. This keeps Aperture at an accessible price compared to solid-walnut sconces, while still delivering the visual warmth of walnut. Avoid abrasive cleaners or alcohol-based solvents, which can dull the finish.

Installation

HARDWIRED · LICENSED ELECTRICIAN RECOMMENDED
Wall Junction Box Installation
Aperture connects to a standard recessed wall junction box (single-gang or 4″ round). Total fixture weight is about 2.2 lb / 1 kg — well within any modern junction box's load rating. The wall mount is anchored at the top of the capsule. We recommend a licensed electrician for installation, particularly in bathrooms and powder rooms where moisture exposure should be assessed before final placement.
Renovating a hallway, bedroom, or powder room? Aperture is best installed during electrical rough-in, before drywall is finished. If you're retrofitting an existing wall, your electrician will likely add or relocate a junction box at the planned mount point — typically a 30–60 minute job per sconce.

Bulb

G9 · TWO-PIN BASE
1 × G9 Bulb
G9 is a small two-pin base — about the size of a USB plug — standard for compact wall sconces. A 2700–3000K warm-white bulb reads beautifully through the frosted globe and complements the walnut-finish backplate. Use a low-heat G9 bulb and avoid halogen G9s — they run hot next to the resin backplate. For dimming, choose a Triac-dimmable G9 bulb and pair it with a standard Triac wall dimmer.

Frequently asked

Is the wood real?
No — the warm walnut tone is a wood-grain finish on a sculpted resin backplate, not solid wood. This keeps Aperture at an accessible price while still delivering the visual warmth of walnut.
What's a G9 bulb?
G9 is a small two-pin base — about the size of a USB plug — standard for compact wall sconces. A 2700–3000K warm-white bulb reads beautifully through the frosted globe. Use a low-heat G9 bulb and avoid halogen G9s, which run hot next to the resin backplate.
Can I install Aperture myself?
We recommend installation by a licensed electrician. The wiring connection is straightforward (line, neutral, ground to a wall junction box), but proper leveling and secure anchoring matter on a 15″ vertical sconce.
Where does Aperture look best?
The 15″ vertical proportion makes Aperture ideal for narrow surfaces: hallway accents (in pairs, 6–8 ft apart), bedside flanking either side of a bed, powder-room walls, and home-office accent walls. It is less suited to oversized living-room walls, where it would read undersized.
How does the walnut-finish resin age compared to real walnut?
Differently — and more predictably. Real walnut develops a deeper patina over years. Walnut-finish resin holds its color and surface stable with no oiling, waxing, or humidity concerns.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Yes — Aperture is damp-rated and suits bathroom and powder-room walls away from direct shower spray. We recommend installing it at least 24 inches from the shower or tub.
Can I dim Aperture?
Yes — pair a Triac-dimmable G9 bulb with a standard Triac wall dimmer. Test the combination before final installation.
How do I clean it?
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid alcohol, ammonia, bleach, and abrasive sponges — these can dull the walnut wood-grain finish over time.
Is Aperture certified for North America and Europe?
Yes. It is compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia certification and operates on AC 110–240V.

Great light

The frosted glass emits a soft light. It took about 30 minutes to install. The wood finish is a bit darker than it looks in the pictures, but it still looks great in the stairwell.
